As a consultant, I have for a year contributed with UX in the project digitalization of social systems for the City of Stockholm. The focus of my part of the project was on how home care and outreach staff could schedule the team's work, collaborate within the team and with the individual and record their work in journals.
The systems to be developed were complex. On the one hand, there were legal requirements and on the other hand there were technical requirements from the PEGA CRM system that Stockhoms Stad used. My role was very much about communicating with- and understanding several of the project's different stakeholders such as social services workers, product owners, Pega developers, etc. Much of the work was about investigating the City's requirements and the Pega CRM system's requirements. The fact that I could create working prototypes allowed us to discuss something concrete, which reduced the risk of misunderstanding. This was imporant in a project with many and diverse stakeholders. The prototype became a tool for communication in this part of the project and a way to create new design ideas together and drive the work forward.
